Società Agricola La Pellegrina Spa, of the Veronesi Group, carries out pig incubator and breeding activities at the Morengo site. The request for action on the pig production site started from the need to bring the spaces in line with European and national animal welfare regulations. Of the various complexes that make up the La Pellegrina center, the intervention was aimed at demolishing and rebuilding part of the area dedicated to farming, which was fenced off and accessible only through checkpoints. Of the 12 sheds on the site, six, with a floor area of about 9,000 square meters, were to be rebuilt with a larger total floor area than their predecessors, three buildings totaling about 11,000 square meters, precisely to comply with the new regulations on animal living space.
